After being recruited to the DivaGirl network by Laura Furtado, Anna saw the opportunity to present the first show to establish a new cabaret company. The show was inspired by the idea of the vintage boudoir. Decadent, flirtatious and light-hearted, it was meant to be set in the late 50's and embody Las Vegas showgirl flair. This first show, "A Decadent Scandal" was simple and concise: four solos by four feature artists (including Anna), bookended by an opening and closing ensemble act with the dancers. It took four quick rehearsals to put the show together, and one tech run in the space on opening night. Rehearsals were held at Canadian Children’s Dance Theatre. DivaGirl collaboration with Carla Catherwood and Nuvo Burlesque (Army of Sass) presented this inaugural show under new show presenter name called “The Chic-A-Boom Room”; this entity was responsible for marketing, ticket sales and afterparty entertainment. The show was one night only to launch High Society Cabaret, was well attended, well received, and met with a lot of enthusiasm and excitement by the audience.
“It was just a taste of what I wanted to accomplish and I knew I wanted to delve deeper into burlesque and cabaret” - Anna Jaeger
